Greetings, I am from a group that is developing an app using OSM and we have a few questions about its usage. Firstly, is there a cost for using OSM? and if there is, Are there some restrictions for not paying this cost, such as prohibition of charging a third party? Next, is there a legal contract when using OSM? Thirdly, is there a possibility that by using OSM we lose our intelectual property of the app? Finally, is there anythithing else of importance that we should know when programming with OSM? Thank you for your attention. asked 14 Dec '16, 21:49 FindStand SimonPoole ♦ |
The "copyright" link at openstreetmap.org should explain: http://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright . That describes the usage of OpenStreetMap data. If you want to use OpenStreetMap services, you'll also want to read the tile usage policy and the api usage policy. There are also many third-party APIs that use OpenStreetMap data; these will have their own usage policies. answered 14 Dec '16, 22:08 SomeoneElse ♦ |
