I really like OSM but I'm having problems getting into it. I can't find good ressources. What I need to do is the following:

  • Show some markers at certain addresses (meaning I need to get the coordinates from an address!)
  • Draw the route between these markers

This sounds pretty simple but I couldn't find anything good on the internet. Do you have any links for me?

Thanks very much

Do you mean to use a map (e.g. draw markers on top) based on OpenStreetMap? Or do you mean to edit our database?

Just to use a map online on a webpage. No editing!

Note that the openstreetmap.org homepage is (currently) not really targeted at end users but more at mappers.

See how-do-i-add-a-marker-to-a-map how to add marker(s) in general (you will see the marker coordinates in the openstreetmap.org URL - mlat and mlong). For routing between positions (markers) see the OpenStreetMap-based routing services (try e.g. http://open.mapquest.com/ ).
