Hello, When I create searches for Vancouver Canada using postal codes around the University of British Columbia area, they show up in the middle of the city instead of at the university area. To reproduce, try creating a search with the postal code V6T1Z4, which is the university's official address, which is what I have done at this link https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=V6T%201Z4#map=15/49.2651/-123.1007. How can this be fixed? |

https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=V6T%201Z4#map=19/49.25876/-123.24594 looks correct for me, the "wrong" result you are getting seems to be coming from geocoder.ca, which, as it says clearly, is not data from OpenStreetMap. I would suggest taking the issue up on https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca maybe we shouldn't be displaying the additional results from geoder.ca any more. Thanks! I sent a message to geocoder.ca, and will follow up with the mailing list if there is not reply. One idea might would be to center the map over the openstreetmap result by default instead of the geocoder.ca one, since the default map position after searching is in the middle of the city which makes it appear incorrect when the correct address is in fact there as you pointed out.

Confirmed that the updates to geocoder.ca fixed this issue. The OSM map now centers on the expected university location when searching for this zip code.
