Hi, I traveled into a small US town last week (Beaufort, NC) and I saw that the OSM map wasn't that great (I use Maps.me). Lot of restaurants, shops or new roads are missing, so I decided to change some things. I made some change to the coastline to better reflect the satellite imagery from Bing, but for some reasons it's not appearing. https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=13/34.7092/-76.6541 I did some changes to the Shackleford Banks by adding his name to the island… After that I edited the coastline of Beaufort near front street and added some attractions, etc. but my changes are not showing. I don't know when the update will appears. One thing is weird with Shackleford Banks island is that the island shape is now showing my edit and Shackleford point, but you still see the white shape on the left. Will it goes away? Beaufort Coastline didn't change. Also, when asking for review to our change, who is looking at it? Is it possible to myself to look at someone else change to review it? Thank you PS: I'm new in the OSM editing :) asked 14 Aug '18, 03:20 Nic727 aseerel4c26 ♦ |
(sorry, not much time now) Welcome! :-) Your changes will appear magically after some time. The update process just takes some time. Please the top questions at see https://help.openstreetmap.org/tags/update/?sort=mostvoted and https://help.openstreetmap.org/tags/not_shown/?sort=mostvoted . Your changes to the coastline take much longer (weeks), that is normal - see https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/276/why-do-the-changes-i-have-made-to-coastline-not-appear-on-the-map . Other contributors (like you) will, hopefully, look at your changeset if you requested review. If that happens depends if there are enough active people. Yes, you can do reviews, too: just add a changeset discussion comment with your feedback. However, I would not regard this as very newbie-compatible task. :-) See https://help.openstreetmap.org/tags/review_requested/ and http://neis-one.org/2017/09/review-requests-osm/ . If you have some specific other questions, please ask them all on separate question entries on this site. Happy mapping! answered 14 Aug '18, 06:39 aseerel4c26 ♦ |
