Get city boundaries

I'm able to get city boundaries in overpass turbo But I can't translate this query overpassapi. Any ideas? Thanks.

The export button allows to convert it to a regular Overpass API query.

Tn'x scai, Tried that but it's make a query with area with the area code, not the name of the city as in the editor.

Correct, because the geocoding task is done by overpass turbo and is not supported by Overpass API.

Hi there, I want to know how to get city boundaries on that website? I'm allergic to code. I want to draw the district or County level boundaries of those cities: Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Huzhou, Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Ningbo. Please help.
