The version before my editing had a single roadway into parking which incorrect. From the street, a two-way entrance splits into a triangle shaped one-way parking aisle going around a garden. The garden i outlined with 3 circles and i am trying to join the circles into a single rounded triangle shape. I have only used iD to edit. Can someone guide me to merging these into a single shape? Thank you for your help in advance. asked 09 Dec '15, 01:09 EugeneWII |
I've tried merging the three areas in ID, and I couldn't get it to work. I would recommend that you delete the two smaller ways and expand (ie change the shape of) the third way into the shape you want. answered 09 Dec '15, 08:31 Lightsider |
This is not pretty, but you can do it this way in iD:

Thanks for the help. I had tried neuhausr's method first and the inside triangle lines disappeared, but the merging was still not allowed. I'm guessing that the outer straight lines I earlier used to connect the partial circle areas were lines (paths) and the editor didn't see my intention. I ultimately deleted the mess and just redrew the area as lightsider's suggestion... point by point. Since I am still new at this, I may just pick one of the many remote islands of the Philippines to practice my skills as they progress. answered 09 Dec '15, 21:13 EugeneWII 1
I had to do some trial and error to get that process to work. I think it might be easier in other editors. Best of luck!

Adding a custom tag of 'area=yes' will convince id (the web editor) that you want it to treat the feature as an area.
