I want to use my WMS layer as a background in OSM iD editor. I know it works in JOSM but i couldn't figure it out in iD editor. Any one knows how to do this? asked 08 Jan '15, 19:04 Abduselam aseerel4c26 ♦ |
I dont know if this service, WHOOTS, is still up and running, but it does demonstrate one way to access WMS in a tile-based editor. answered 08 Jan '15, 20:05 SK53 ♦ Just checked with the author and WHOOTS is still available at the Mapwarper site.

iD now supports WMS since version 2.7.0 (March 2, 2018) (see https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/1141 and https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/1777 ). However, there's isn't already support for custom WMS imagery (see https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/4977 ). So to use WMS, you would have to use your own local iD installation. answered 18 May '18, 10:31 The RedBurn |
just in case you have serving options for your layer: TMS in iD would work.
