Is there a way of displaying either the lon/lat of the cursor or the lon/lat of the currently selected node in iD? asked 09 May '13, 16:19 sdoerr |
For the currently selected node you can view the coordinates if it is already uploaded to OSM. Just click "View on openstreetmap.org" on the left bottom. If the currently selected node is not yet uploaded then your only chance is to zoom to the maximum (currently zoom level 26) with the node in the centre and then look at the url bar of your browser. Five digit WGS84 precision is shown there, only. answered 04 Jan '17, 23:22 aseerel4c26 ♦ |
Currently this isn't included, partially because we don't know what the use case would be - whether it's to modify that value, to see it, or to cross-reference it somehow - and how this feature would apply to datatypes beyond nodes, for which there is no singular lat/lon value. answered 08 Jul '13, 19:03 mcw 4
Use cases: all three of the above. Datatypes other than nodes: no one's asking for that, and so that's a red herring.

Here is my use case for the requested feature: I often have simple POIs and lat/lon values for them. What I want to do is to transfer this data (in conjunction with a few tags) to OSM. This means I would like to enter the lat/lon values manually. For example I want to enter (manually) something like this:
