Hi, I want to know how much every user had edits on a country (nodes and ways). Then, I can have user rankings from the most active to less active one. I had seen my desired data in this link (for example for my country Iran) http://www.odbl.de/iran.html which has a nice table showing nodes, ways and relation edits an their percentage for every one, but its data is outdated -only to 2012-07-08 :-( Is there any similar service? Thanks in advance. asked 25 Mar '14, 18:09 kesler |
Please don't publish tables based on pure numbers like this. They don't help to improve the quality of mapping and are easily gamed thus lowering OSM's overall quality. The ODbL tool you link to is not a league table, but a tool used during the licence change process to target users who had contributed large amounts of data but had not agreed to the change. Pascal Neis has produced some nice tools and visualisations based on users' edits, but they reflect some more useful qualities than just raw numbers of edits. Take a look at those before you do anything that might harm OSM. answered 25 Mar '14, 18:16 Jonathan Ben... Thanks. I know that my link was for ODbl licence check, but it also shows how much users contributed in editing a region. I just want to know proportional ranking of users nothing else. I don't think this harms OSM!

See this contest retrospective for an example of how per-user statistics have the potential to lower contribution quality. That said, one easy way to make your own stats is to use country extracts and spatialite tools, then some simple sql. Just avoid turning it into a contest.

Another example that can provide similar statistics on a more local level is ITO's OSM Mapper: http://www.itoworld.com/static/openstreetmap_tools/osm_mapper.html
